Leigh Davids

Board Member

Leigh Davids is a fearless, trail-blazing black transgender woman who sells sex and advocates for the health & human rights of sex workers in South Africa. Her advocacy mainly focuses on issues related to the daily lives of trans women sex workers. She has been a sex worker for the past 25 years.

In recent years Leigh has become one of the leaders of SistaazHood, an organisation for trans women sex workers living in Cape Town. In 2016 she received an award for movement building from S.H.E.

Ntsiki Skosana

Board Member

Ntsiki Skosana is a trans woman and gender activist from East London in the Eastern Cape Province. She uses social media platforms such as facebook to advocate for gender inclusivity and promote gender identity.

When she is not at her retail job, she enjoys black and white photography that captures her essences. Ntiski is a proud a feminist and lives by the ideology that trans women should be agents of change in their lives.

Pearl Xakoshe

Board Member

Pearl Revelation Xakoshe is a trans woman born and raised in Sebokeng in the Vaal Triangle, Gauteng. In 2011 she worked at Transgender and Intersex Africa (TIA) a Non-Profit Organisation. Pearl has been a trans woman activist since the age of 19.

Ricky Nathanson

Board Member

Rikki Nathanson comes from the city of Bulawayo, in the southern province of Matabeleland in Zimbabwe. She is a Chartered Secretary by profession, and has a wealth of experience in the fields of corporate governance, finance and administration. Before her transition in 2005, she worked as Company Secretary for a blue chip company, prior to which she had worked extensively in the accounting and auditing fields.

She formed the first trans led and trans specific organization in Zimbabwe and has gone on to be instrumental in the formation of the trans movement in Southern Africa. Her drive, skills and passion for activism have seen her being invited to serve on several boards in Southern Africa and she has become a sought after speaker at various fora.

Xolani Gugwana

Board Member

Xolani Gugwana is a gay man from Duncan Village, East London. He describes himself as an activist for sexual and gender diversity. His has experience in different human rights issues including men having sex with men, transgender, HIV and sex worker rights. Xolani works in retail and enjoys going to the beach in his spare time.
